On 1st June 2020, our dear colleague Peter M. Knudsencelebrated 25 years of working in our company. In August, we organised a small reception, which gave us the opportunity to express how much we value Peter as a colleague and recognize the contributions he continues to make. Hard working, loyal, knowledgeable, fair, with a strong work ethic. These are just a few words that describe Peter. For a quarter of a century, Peter has been active in the promotion and sale of the technology he truly believes can make a difference in fire safety; high-pressure water mist. His vast experience makes Peter a mentor, who we often go to for training and guidance in Danfoss Fire Safety. We thank Peter for a great collaboration, and we look forward to many more years of working with water mist projects. “Really overwhelmed by the many compliments I received in connection with my 25-year anniversary – thanks to Danfoss, truly a great company to be working for.”Peter M. The fire hose reel cabinet with spray gun is part of the 1st emergency response strategy in case of a fire. The fire department saves important time.

The new SEM-SAFE® fire hose reel cabinet with spray gun replaces the traditional design consisting of sprinkler system and separate hose reel system, whilst adding a series of advantages within installation, integration and operation. The most important goal is to offer the best possible efficiency when fighting fire and protect people, equipment and assets.

The SEM-SAFE® fire hose reel cabinet with spray gun is suitable for installation in any building types, modern or historic, and of any size and height

It is an immediate fire safety solution for commercial applications such as hotels, stores, warehouses, underground car parks, health care facilities, educational facilities, museums, offices and high-rise buildings.

     Fast & easy installation

Everything is optimised on the SEM-SAFE fire hose reel cabinet with spray gun for quick and easy installation by just one person.

There is  extra flexibility in installation. By turning the cabinet around and by reassembling the internal main components, the fire cabinet door can be changed to left or right hinged. The fire cabinet has pre-cut holes for piping, which allow for extra flexibility in installation.

Mounted outside the wall - surface wall mount

  • “Click” solution for SEM-SAFE® nozzle installation

    Published 2 April 2020

The SEM-SAFE® nozzle installation kit has been developed… View

The SEM-SAFE® nozzle installation kit has been developed to fit the SEM-SAFE® high-pressure water mist nozzle and is compatible with a variety of ceiling types. It is suitable for drop-hose installation and fixed piping. It allows for easy installation and servicing of nozzles.

The SEM-SAFE® nozzle installation kit can be used for the following purposes:

    • simply covering the nozzle or
    • installing the nozzle in the ceiling, while also ensuring nozzle coverage

Simplicity and ease of use were key parameters in developing this solution. With the help of magnets fitted to the clamp disc, the cover plate simply ‘clicks’ and covers the installation area.

By using the nozzle installation kit, the SEM-SAFE® nozzle can be installed last and the pressure testing can be done before the nozzle is finally installed in the ceiling. With this installation solution, any maintenance and inspection as well as alteration to the ceiling can be done without interfering with the high-pressure water mist nozzle and system, thereby saving time on installation and maintenance significantly.

The "click" solution kit includes 3 main components:

    Clamp disc
    - to be installed around the nozzle neck. The clamp disc is designed as a multi bracket, to utilize for both installing nozzles with screws and for installing nozzle with "spider" weldment functionality.

Cover plate - clicks on clamp disc to cover the nozzle installation area.

    "Spider" weldment
    - needed when screws can not be used for installation. Supports installation from the top side of the ceiling.

    Documentation

Please click here in order to access the data sheet for the SEM-SAFE® nozzle installation kit.

    Videos

There are three methods in total of installing the nozzle using the SEM-SAFE® nozzle installation kit:

    1. Nozzle installation with cover plate and clamp disc - nozzle covering only

Knowledge sharing, networking and fun are key ingredients for a productive meeting.

Top that up with some very enthusiastic colleagues and one might understand how well the Danfoss UK quarterly meeting went. The meeting gathered colleagues from all Danfoss segments, with expertise in areas such as fixed fire safety, heating, drives, cooling and power. During networking, one objective was to discuss how to align the Danfoss solution portfolio to fit the UK building requirements, providing more solutions to our customers and consultants. The central platform would allow us to assist specifiers with BIM models, data sheets and case material. Lewis Oxley, UK Sales Manager at Danfoss Fire Safety presented to the other segments how our SEM-SAFE® high-pressure water mist system works and why it is the perfect fire safety solution for protecting people and assets in any type of building in case of a fire. “The staff at Danfoss UK made me feel very welcome and feedback on the presentation was very positive. It was an interesting topic for everyone”, says Lewis. Reliable fire technology for keeping data centres safe

Data centres are at the heart of modern IT infrastructure.  Critical and sensitive data centre equipment must be kept operational  in case of a fire situation.  With our our SEM-SAFE® high-pressure water mist system, the fight against fire is more efficient, with the ultimate goal of protecting people and equipment. The SEM-SAFE® system will activate fast in the area where fire has been detected, ensuring rapid cooling.

    • Ventilation can be kept running
    • There is no need for shutting fire dampers.
    • Due to minimal water damage to equipment, minimal downtime is achieved.
    • The SEM-SAFE® system is FM approved and has successfully passed testing at 57°C and 68°C.
