On 1st June 2020, our dear colleague Peter M. Knudsencelebrated 25 years of working in our company. In August, we organised a small reception, which gave us the opportunity to express how much we value Peter as a colleague and recognize the contributions he continues to make. Hard working, loyal, knowledgeable, fair, with a strong work ethic. These are just a few words that describe Peter. For a quarter of a century, Peter has been active in the promotion and sale of the technology he truly believes can make a difference in fire safety; high-pressure water mist. His vast experience makes Peter a mentor, who we often go to for training and guidance in Danfoss Fire Safety. We thank Peter for a great collaboration, and we look forward to many more years of working with water mist projects. “Really overwhelmed by the many compliments I received in connection with my 25-year anniversary – thanks to Danfoss, truly a great company to be working for.”Peter M. Knowledge sharing, networking and fun are key ingredients for a productive meeting.

Top that up with some very enthusiastic colleagues and one might understand how well the Danfoss UK quarterly meeting went. The meeting gathered colleagues from all Danfoss segments, with expertise in areas such as fixed fire safety, heating, drives, cooling and power. During networking, one objective was to discuss how to align the Danfoss solution portfolio to fit the UK building requirements, providing more solutions to our customers and consultants. The central platform would allow us to assist specifiers with BIM models, data sheets and case material. Lewis Oxley, UK Sales Manager at Danfoss Fire Safety presented to the other segments how our SEM-SAFE® high-pressure water mist system works and why it is the perfect fire safety solution for protecting people and assets in any type of building in case of a fire. “The staff at Danfoss UK made me feel very welcome and feedback on the presentation was very positive. Danfoss Fire Safety will attend Freiburger Brandschutztag 2019 congress & exhibition. Topic of this event is "Fire protection in timber buildings". Opening date: Wednesday, 02. October 2019 - 08:00 - 18:00 Address: Ballsaal Berlin, Europa Park Europa-Park-Straße 4+6 77977 Rust Germany

    Fire protection and wood construction?

At first one might wonder how timber buildings and fire protection can be managed and what safety measures need to be taken to make timber buildings as safe as possible in case of a fire. Appropriate regulations, proper fire division of the floors and the installation of a certified, fixed fire fighting system are some of the means to ensure best fire safety in a timber building, even a tall building made of timber. Wood seems to be more and more used in construction of buildings. The building sector is focusing on sustainable construction, with architects and designers trending towards more organic space environment for which wood often seems to be the best solution. Our SEM-SAFE® high-pressure ware mist system is the optimal fire safety solution for timber tall buildings, with one pump unit being able to cover all areas in the building. Water mist has excellent fire suppression properties including capture of soot particles, strong reduction of radiant heat and rapid lowering of the temperature to acceptable level. Visit our stand at Freiburger Brandschutztag 2019, where Thomas Helmle, Business Development Manage is looking forward to sharing knowledge about fire safety in timber tall building. Among other, you can learn details about SKAIO project in Germany- the tallest timber building in Germany- fully protected with SEM-SAFE® high-pressure water mist system for fire safety. July proved to be a busy, yet productive month for Danfoss Fire Safety A/S.  We are very glad to have completed another successful training seminar focused on operation and maintenance of SEM-SAFE® high-pressure water mist systems.  Peter M. Knudsen, Market Solution Manager & Leader in our SEM-SAFE® Academy Training Program is very satisfied with the outcome of the recent training. "We just completed a successful 2-day partner service engineer training seminar in our headquarters in Odense, Denmark. There were 8 service engineers participating from 7 of our great partners in Europe; MARANG Brandschutz & Technologie GmbH, and Multimon Industrieanlagen GmbH from Germany, Dunamenti from Hungary, Unica Fire Safety from the Netherlands, Fireworks from the UK, Automatic Fire from Ireland and GM sprinkler from Poland. We covered much of the huge “Operation & Maintenance” subject, a lot about control of the pump unit, details and function of each tiny Danfoss component, and changing of the high-pressure pumps in a unit. The immediate feedback we received from our enthusiastic, and indeed interesting, participants was overwhelming... thank you all for that!", says Peter M. Knudsen.

    The Danfoss SEM-SAFE® Academy

This training seminar is part of our SEM-SAFE® Academy programme, which we organise periodically in Danfoss Fire Safety. The SEM-SAFE® Academy comprises several training modules which focus on, for example, sales training, basic and advanced introduction to the SEM-SAFE® high-pressure water mist, and technical training. The products must demonstrate a high degree of innovation and also provide the user with significant benefits. Danfoss Semco was nominated this year for the new bilge nozzle launched in 2014. The SEM-SAFE®nozzle is specifically designed for the bilge area of the engine room. While protecting bilge heights up to 1.5 m, it performs much better than other products and offers a solution completely based on high-pressure water mist. Danfoss Semco high-pressure water mist… View

Danfoss Semco high-pressure water mist systems are especially suitable for a wide range of highly specialized “work intensive” vessels. These vessels are characterized by functional design adapted to their purpose; research, pipe laying, safety standby, support, anchor handling or other functions. The common denominator for these vessels is high utilization rate of all available spaces. Danfoss Semco high-pressure water mist unit is designed with special attention to this segment.  A high performance skid mounted pump unit with minimal footprint. The latest newcomer to the Danfoss Semco group of clients within the segment of specialized vessels is Debmarine Namibia, one of the world´s leading marine diamond mining companies. After a heavy and costly engine room fire in 2013, Debmarine Namibia decided that CO2 total engine room protection was to be supported by high-pressure water mist local application. The reason: a means to control or completely extinguish an engine room fire within minutes. From 2013 until now, Danfoss Semco local application systems are found onboard almost all De Beers mining vessels. Remaining vessels will be updated throughout 2015 and 2016. We are proud to have been chosen as the trusted supplier for the De Beers Group. Meeting the rigid safety requirements of the De Beers Group is recognition of Danfoss Semco high-pressure water mist systems. De Beers Group
