Børsen – The old Stock Exchange House and one of Denmark’s most iconic and historic buildings, burn into flames

Published 1 May 2024

Throwback to an eventful last week at the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) Performance-Based Design (PBD) Conference and Exhibition in Copenhagen, Denmark. This premier event gathered 300 fire professionals and enthusiasts to discuss new fire safety technologies, methods, processes, and materials for safer buildings.

During the event, we were incredibly sad to witness Børsen, the old Stock Exchange House and one of Denmark’s most iconic and historic buildings, burn into flames. The 400-year-old building was well recognized in the Copenhagen skyline, due to its dragon-tailed spire.
This unfortunate event reinforces the importance of protecting historical buildings with reliable fire safety solutions. Forums, like the ones provided by SFPE, are thus essential to sharing knowledge and taking action.

During the SFPE congress, we tackled the benefits behind our SEM-SAFE® high-pressure water mist solution for key applications, such as heritage, hospitals, mass timber buildings, tunnels, and parking garages with electric vehicles, to name just a few.
