Heinrich-Hertz Institute, Germany

Situated in the capital of Germany, the Heinrich Hertz Institute, has a worldwide reputation for leading-edge research and development with IT.  With a height of 100 m, the building consists of:

  • Laboratories
  • Laser rooms
  • Computer work spaces
  • Offices
  • Meeting rooms
  • Server rooms
  • Emergency diesel backups
  • Workshop areas
  • Cafeterias
  • Etc.

During the building renovation, it was concluded that a fire fighting system was needed in order to increase the fire resistance.  Minimum water damage was the main criteria when choosing the fire fighting system. With this in mind, SEM-SAFE® high-pressure water mist was chosen. During the installation of the SEM-SAFE® system, the building continued to be in operation.
