Carmen, Car Carrier

When built, Carmen was the largest car carrier in the world, with a capacity of almost 8,000 cars. As is customary, the engine room and car decks are protected by a low-pressure CO2 system. Danfoss Semco has a long standing relationship with Wallenius Wilhelmsen, and therefore we were invited to provide the fire-fighting system for this series of five vessels.

Nobody wishes to ever use this system, but even after 35 years on board a vessel, you need to feel confident that the system will work in case of a fire. This is the reason why many ship owners all over the world look to Danfoss Semco for low-pressure CO2.
